Our Process

  • Getting to Know You

    In getting to you know, we’ll spend time together discussing your goals, visions, how you live, what you like and don’t like about your current spaces, and more. This will lay the foundation for the design plans and ensure the end result is everything you dreamed of and more.

  • Design

    During the design phase we’ll create a comprehensive design plan for you complete with spacing, furniture layouts, colors, finishes, materials, lighting and furniture. You’ll be able to visualize the space through 2D renderings, mood boards, and color and material samples. Hemenway House will partner with any necessary contractors, and then we’ll review the plans and material selections together, collaborate on any changes and finalize all of the details - from your countertop selection to your living room rug and everything in between!

  • Procurement

    In the procurement phase, placing and managing orders will depend on the specific project. For some projects you may purchase and ship products directly to your house, while other projects we’ll take care of everything for you. In those instances, we’ll place the orders, manage the shipping and receiving, and schedule deliveries. In both instances we’ll partner with any necessary contractors, and manage external custom vendors until shipping.

  • Installation

    Now, the fun part – installation! Depending on your project, particularly if your space is a blank canvas, we’ll schedule an installation day where we’ll bring the space to life. On installation days, all items will be installed, placed and styled perfectly. We oversee every installation to ensure that all of the details are exactly as discussed and exactly as you envisioned. Once complete, you join us for the reveal and get to sit back and admire the space for many years to come.
